For many years, Si-fu Povinec aimed to incorporate children into the curriculum to provide a comprehensive training solution. His extensive experience with the martial art of Wing Chun made this possible; however, it was not feasible due to the demanding organization of leading these sessions alongside adult and youth classes. Thanks to a new influx of instructors at the FWCK school, training was expanded in October 2017 to include children aged 7 to 13.

It is now possible to train at our school from an early age, allowing students to develop their motor skills in Wing Chun techniques from childhood. These foundations of the Wing Chun system ensure faster progress during later training with older students.

In this way, our FWCK school provides a comprehensive educational solution that covers all stages of age and development.

Learning Objectives

Stretching: stretching contributes to muscle flexibility and overall body mobility; these exercises are particularly effective in childhood, which children will appreciate later during adolescence.

Motor Exercises: special coordination exercises improve the ability to concentrate. Balance exercises support perception, focus, and develop motor skills.

Wing Chun Technique: movements, blocks, and strikes specialized for the Wing Chun system.

Wing Chun Applications combined with load exercises in a competitive and playful form: Wing Chun techniques in pairs, supplemented by exercises for muscle growth and fitness. These exercises are designed in a playful way to improve children's motivation.

Conditioning and Strength Exercises: exercises to develop fitness and muscle mass.

Review Questions, and development of Morals and Ethics: at the end of the lesson, technical terms are reviewed for better orientation during learning, and topics necessary for children to react correctly and appropriately in unexpected situations are discussed.

Overall, the instruction focuses on developing healthy self-confidence and proper reactions in children.

Certificates

Children in this training program (from ages 7 to 13) are evaluated with 8 certificates.

Each individual certificate represents the mastery of one sentence from the first form, Sil Lum Tao, along with the corresponding combat applications for that specific sentence.

Evaluation exams for children are held every 3 months during training hours.

The exam consists of techniques from a specific sentence, applications for the given strikes and blocks, violence prevention, and behavior and problem-solving in various unforeseen situations.

With every exam, the child grows in Wing Chun techniques while gaining self-confidence from success and knowledge.

<h2
